This year, 2001, Kennington Overseas Aid is dedicating it's fund-raising efforts to establishing a centre for orphaned children in the town of THIKA in Kenya, with eight houses, each holding 8 children, around a central block (the Kennington Building) with health care based there. The target is to raise £10,000, with undergraduate students from Plymouth University helping to build the various homes.

KOA would like to thank all of the contestants, partakers and helpers for making the Fun Run & Walk a very enjoyable occasion, and for helping to raise a significant amount of money for AfPiC's project in Kenya. The final figures are not in yet, but the first indications are that it will be more than £700.
